The Rev'd John R Clarke
Retiring as rector of St. Paul’s Parish, Malden, in 2018, the Rev’d John R. Clarke has served at Old North Church, Boston; St Augustine & St Martin, Roxbury; Ascension Memorial Church, Ipswich; and Parish of the Messiah, Newton. He is also former dean of the Mystic Valley Deanery. A native of Waltham, he received his BA from Wheaton College (Illinois), where he majored in Communication and Theater Arts. After enjoying careers as an organizational development consultant, corporate trainer, and professional singer, John earned his M.Div. at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry/Weston Jesuit School of Theology in 1998. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1999 by the Rt. Rev’d M. Thomas Shaw, SSJE. John lives with his spouse, Bill Theisen, in Malden.
